The voice and the image of Thor! He'll be in the crowd, on your table and on the bar whilst rocking some THORSOME tunes.
Having spent 18 months with Non Compos Mentis, Lee wanted to step up a gear and when the opportunity to join a band of Thor's calibre came along, he jumped at the chance to perform on big stages, to big audiences.
Taking inspiration from music legends such as Bon Scott, Paul Rodgers, Freddie Mercury and, his icon, Robert Plant, Lee's performance of taking the show to the people, along with Mike, Kev, Joe and James, has become a trademark of a Thor show.
Having grown up listening to iconic rock bands such as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Queen and Whitesnake, Lee's education at the School of Rock started at home with his dad playing air guitar and getting lyrics wrong.
The first taste of being on stage with a rock band came at the WORLD FAMOUS jam night at The Midland, Sheffield, where he met James, Joe and Mike, who would ultimately become fellow Gods of Rock and was picked up by Non Compos Mentis, with whom he spent 18 months before donning the cape and picking up the hammer to become the voice of THOR - GODS OF ROCK! Guitar & Vocals
Kevin started playing bass as a youngster but switched to guitar out of convenience and demand. After some early encounter with school bands, He began performing properly with Zenon Boczars pop/rock 'Elesis' before leaving to join long term friends and creating Solace, a soft rock covers/originals outfit. After leaving for college, Kevin returned to bass, gigging with his father in Denmark and Switzerland covering rock/acoustic/country and Irish until answering the ad for a Duran Duran Tribute; time passed and no suitable guitarist was found so as soon as Dave (Solace) became available, Kevin was back on 6 strings.
With Duran:the tribute, he toured the country heavily for several years, regularly playing along side some big bands from that era. Alongside Duran, Dave (Solace) and Kevin (this time on vocals/guitar) created Miami Twice; a successful pop tribute duo with an 80's theme.
After some time, Kevin began playing with top session player Erroll Rollins' PopKorn. Playing predominantly pop/funk/soul, again working heavily around the UK and Israel and expanding to create other acts; The SoulSteppers(70's Tribute) and The SuperChargers (80's Tribute with Kevin back on vocals). The band eventually morphed into funk/soul act LIME, made up of great deps and session players, but ultimately short lived, after which, the hammer fell with a roar of thunder and THOR came a callin'. Drums & Vocals
" Joe started lessons at about 10 years of age before joining his first band called North and South when he was 12. He went on to form the band slipstream when he was 14, getting rave reviews that all went a bit sour. He then joined a band called Gas Town doing all original material between age 17 and 19. He then formed a band called Shaft doing all 70s disco stuff for a couple of years. After that he got very disillusioned with the music game and didn't have a band for a couple of years, just doing dep gigs. He then got back into music and formed a 6 piece progressive metal band called Suffer As One for a couple of years then went on to form a band called Nyasiforte with some of the existing members doing similar metal stuff. When Nyasiforte dissolved he went on to doing lots of dep work and jam nights before throwing together The Desperados which started winding down and inevitably forming THOR as we know it. "
Keyboards & Vocals
" James started keyboard lessons when he was about 12 years old and got into his first real band called Slipstream when he was 15, which ran for about 5 years. This is what he likes to think of as his very intense training ground along side his brother and father, it taught him many aspects of the trade including stage craft and showmanship. James moved onto a band called Shaft after that, playing 70s funk. He then got asked to play for an originals band called Gastown, which almost made the grade, but that story will have to told over a beer or two. James then played keyboards for the comic chubby brown and did a tour with him. As well as the tour James was standing in for people and doing a lot of dep work, as well as few other fun keyboard playing jobs here and there, but he'll keep a few of those stories for the camp fire. "
Bass & Vocals
Mike has been playing bass since he was around 14 and has played in a variety of different bands of all kinds of genres. Mike's playing heavily influenced by the likes of Billy Sheehan and John Myung - he's always been amazed by the technicality of their playing and the ability to turn fast paced licks into melodic tunes that you'll easily remember.
Mike first started playing bass when his parents bought him a Warwick Rockbass Corvette for Christmas. The first band he played with was a pop-punk cover band with a few friends from school. Since then Mike has been in mainly rock bands, but has also experimented with other genres - such as pop, funk, metal and jazz. "
